Bulldog Women's Golf Team Defeats Rockhurst
The Truman State University women's golf team opened up its 2002-03 season on Tuesday, defeating Rockhurst University in a dual match. The Bulldogs' low four combined for a score of 352 which was enough to easily defeat the host school who recorded a round of 374.
Erin Fogarty (Houston, Texas/St. Agnes Academy), the top Truman returning golfer, led the field after shooting an 83. The next two low scores in the field were also Bulldogs as Jill Schulte (St. Charles, Mo./St. Joseph's Academy) shot a 87 followed by Alyssa Pulphus (Naperville, Ill./Lafayette) who carded a 90. Rounding out the scoring for Truman was Lauren Allen (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville) with a 92, Ashley Elliott (Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell) who shot a 95 and Amy Distler (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City Helias) who shot a 106.
The Bulldogs will be in action again on Sept 8-9 at the SIU-Edwardsville Tournament.
