Women's Golf Stays In Fifth Place During the Final Day of Action
The Truman women's golf team was in fifth-place after the first round of the SIU-Edwardsville Invitational and stayed in that position following the final day of action on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs shot a two-day score of 727 with rounds of 359 and 368. Quincy University won the tournament with a score of 680. SIU-Edwardsville was eight shots back followed by Lindenwood and John A. Logan. Nebraska-Wesleyan finished 17 strokes behind Truman for sixth-place. The rest of the field was rounded out by Rend Lake, Missouri-St. Louis, Kentucky Wesleyan and Lincoln.
Lauren Allen had a team-best 88 on the second day and finished with the team's lowest stroke total for the tournament with a 174. That score placed her in a tie for tenth-place overall at the tournament. Jill Schulte had a 178 over two days, tying her for 17th-place. Erin Fogarty shot a 183 at the SIU-Edwardsville Invitational, Ashley Elliott had a 194 and Dyane Tower shot a 196.
The Bulldogs were in fifth place after day one of the tournament after shooting a team score of 359. Fogarty led Truman with a 85 on the first day while Lauren Allen (86) and Jill Schulte (89) each broke 90 as well. Ashley Elliott shot a 99 and Dyane Tower carded a 100.
Truman women's golf will be at the Knox College Tournament in Galesburg, Ill. this Friday and at the Monmouth College Tournament the following day in Monmouth, Ill.
