Women's Golfer Dyane Tower Receives Academic Award
Freshman Bulldog golfer Dyane Tower (Maryland Heights, Mo.) has been named
to the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-America Scholar team
for 2002-03. The award is giving to collegiate golfers who played in 2/3
of all events during the year and has at least a 3.5 GPA. She is the 13th
Truman golfer in the history of the program to receive the NGCA award.
Tower, an exercise science/pre-med major, played in eight tournaments her first season and was fourth on the team by playing 16 rounds of competition. She averaged 96.1 strokes, the fifth-best on the team among players who played at least 10 rounds. She shot a low-round score of 88 on the final day of the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament and her two-round score of 183 at that tournament was also a season-best.
The Truman women's golf team is scheduled to open up its 2003-04 season on Sept. 7-8 at the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Tournament.
