Women's Golf Finish Eighth at Huskie Classic
Going against the strongest field they have faced this year, the Bulldogs women's golf team finished eighth at the Huskie Classic, hosted by Northern Illinois. Truman knocked 14 strokes off its first-round score on Monday to move up one spot in the final standings.
Leading the way for the Bulldogs was senior Erin Fogarty (Houston, Texas/St. Agnes Academy) who tied for 19th overall. She led the team with an 85 on Sunday, and then shot a season-low of 78 in the second round for two-day total of 163. Junior Lauren Allen (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville) finished second on the team and tied for 34th overall with a 86-85=171.
Sophomore Dyane Tower (St. Louis, Mo./Pattonsville) had her best team finish of the fall season and was tied for 39th overall with scores of 89--87=176. Freshman Sara Lloyd (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) shot a 91-87=178 and finished in 42nd place. Senior Calie Fulmer (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount) was 52nd with rounds of 96 and 95, for a total of 191.
The Bulldogs have two more events during its fall schedule. Next up is the Drury Tournament on Oct. 13-14.
