Women's Golf Opens Spring Season At Lady Lion Invitational
The women's golf team opened up their 2004 spring schedule this week at the Lady Lion Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M-Commerce. Despite shooting 11 shots better on the second day of the event, the team finished 14th out of 15 schools at the event.
Senior Erin Fogarty (Houston, Texas/St. Agnes Academy) led the team with a score of 91-85=176, which tied her for 43rd place overall. Junior Lauren Allen (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville) was tied with Fogarty after day one and ended up tied for 56th overall after a second round score of 94.
Rounding out the Bulldog squad was freshman Sara Lloyd (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) who shot a 102-95=197 and tied for 71st, junior Ashley Elliott (Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell) who shot a 101-98=199 and finished 73rd and sophomore Katie Martinek (Belmond, Iowa/Belmond-Klemme) who shot a 100-106=206 and placed 76th.
The women's golf team will be in action again on April 2-3 when they host the Bulldog Classic at the Kirksville Country Club.
