Women's Golf Finishes Third At the Wartburg Invitational

The Bulldogs women's golf team had two top-10 finishers on the way to finishing third out of 13 teams at the Wartburg Invitational last Saturday and Sunday in Waverly, Iowa. Truman, which was fourth after the first round, shot rounds of 335 and 352 and its total score of 687 was 18 strokes behind the host school, which won the event.

Junior Lauren Allen (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville) was the top finisher for Truman for the second straight week after shooting two straight rounds of 84 and coming in tied for eighth overall with a 168. Senior Erin Fogarty (Houston, Texas/St. Agnes Academy) was one shot behind with a 169, tying her for 10th. She had the team's low round of the season with a 79 on day one before shooting a 90 on Sunday.

Freshman Sara Lloyd (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) had another good showing, shooting a 84-90=174 and tying for 16th overall. Sophomore Dyane Tower (St. Louis/Pattonsville) finished fourth on the team and tied for 22nd overall with a 89-88=177. Junior Ashley Elliott (Grinnell, Iowa/Grinnell) had rounds of 88 and 95 as she finished tied for 33rd with a 183. Senior Calie Fulmer (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount) recorded scores of 111 and 102 and tied for 73rd in her first action of the season.

The team will be in action again this Saturday and Sunday, this time at the Illinois Wesleyan Tournament in Bloomington, Ill.
