Bulldogs End Their Fall Season With A Balanced Effort
The Truman women's golf team ended its season on a high note with a good showing at the Kenneth Smith Golf Classic, hosted by Missouri-Kansas City. The Bulldogs finished sixth overall in the 11-team field but was first among the non-Division I schools at the meet.
It was a balanced effort for the team at the competition as four golfers finished within one strokes of each other. Freshman Amanda Senn (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect) led the team with a two day total of 171 tying for 32nd. Sophomore Sara Lloyd (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) and freshmen Marta Samojluk (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) and Laura Westensee (Rock Island, Ill./Rock Island) tied for 35th shooting a total of 172.
Senior Lauren Allen (Kirksville, Mo./Kirksville) finished tied for 48th with a two day total of 181. Junior Dyane Tower (St. Louis., Mo./Pattonsville) competed as an individual and finished tied for 39th with a total of 173.
Samojluk led the team this season with an average of 85.6 during the fall season. Senn and Westensee were close behind with averages of 86.0. Lloyd and Allen rounded out the top five finishing with averages of 88.0 and 88.8, respectively.
