Sara Murray and Kelly Vogel Named MIAA Athletes of the Week

Two Bulldogs earned conference player of the week honors on Monday. Sara Murray was named the women's soccer MIAA Athlete of the Week while Kelly Vogel was named the Wilson/MIAA Volleyball Hitter of the Week.

Murray scored the first goal n each of the Bulldogs two wins last weekend. In the key matchup against Missouri Southern last Saturday, she struck early in the 9th minute, helping the Bulldogs eventually win 2-1. On Sunday, she broke a scoreless tie in the 82nd minute against Emporia State, her second game-winning goal of the season as Truman went on to win 2-0.

Vogel had a career-night against Columbia College last Monday as she recorded 33 kills, 17 digs and had a .338 hitting percentage. The 33 kills tied for the fourth-most in school history and she became just the third Truman player to ever record more than 30 kills in a match. In the deciding fifth-game, Vogel had kills in five of Truman's final six points as the Bulldogs rallied for the win.
