Lisa Schmalz Records Shutout In 2-0 Bulldog Victory

The Truman women's soccer team got back to its winning ways on Saturday afternoon, knocking off Winona State by a 2-0 score. The Bulldogs improved to 3-1-1 on the year while Winona State fell to 2-3-3.

Lisa Schmalz recorded a shutout in goal for the Bulldogs. She had to make just three saves in the match as Truman dominated the possession time for most of the match.

Molly Adams got the game-winning goal in the 23rd minute, scoring off a header after receiving a pass from Beth Wieman. The other Truman strike came in the 63rd minute when Ellen Wright scored off an assist from Sara Murray.

Truman will be in action again next Wednesday when it hosts Rockhurst at 3 p.m.
