The Truman women's soccer team was held scoreless by Missouri Southern in the conference opener this afternoon. The Bulldogs peppered shots at Lion goalkeeper Kaney Tyler but only three made it on goal and she turned them all away. Meanwhile, Truman keeper Lauren Davis stopped all four shots she faced.

The Bulldogs had good chances to score with Anna Sonderman heading a ball just over the cross bar in the first-half off a corner kick sent in by Sara Murray. The Lions best chance came late in the game as Davis made a tough save on an indirect free kick in the 18-yard box.

The draw ends Truman's 23-game win streak in the conference dating back to a 2-2 draw against Southwest Baptist (Mo.) on Oct. 5, 2002. The Bulldogs are unbeaten in 27 MIAA conference games.

Truman's record is 2-0-1 on the season 0-0-1 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. Missouri Southern stays unbeaten as well with a 3-0-1 mark and a 1-0-1 conference record.

The Bulldogs will next face Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday in a key regional matchup for both schools.
