2003 MIAA MVP and first-team all-American Sara Murray got her senior season off to a good start. Murray scored two goals and assisted on the third one as Truman defeated North Dakota by a 3-1 score on Friday afternoon in Grand Forks, N.D.

Murray got the Bulldogs on the board in the 23rd minute when she scored unassisted on a shot from the right corner of the box. That was the only goal in a first-half that was controlled by Truman, who outshot North Dakota by a 7-3 margin in the period.

Truman's Anna Sonderman scored what would be the game-winner in the 57th minute of the contest. The play was set up by a pass from Murray on a play that started on a free kick. Six minutes later, North Dakota got on the board thanks to a tally by Jenna Barr. It could never scored the equalizer however, and Murray sealed the win by finishing a penalty kick in the 88th minute.

Lauren Davis got the win in goal, making three saves while allowing just the one goal. Truman also had two team saves in the contest.

Truman will face Minnesota-Duluth on Sunday at noon in a neutral site game in Grand Forks.
