The Truman women's soccer team won its 13th game of the season to stay within two points of MIAA leader Southwest Baptist in the race for the Bulldogs sixth straight conference title. A early first half goal by Truman's all-time leading scorer Sara Murray (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) was the only tally as the Bulldogs (13-0-2; 7-0-2 defeated Missouri-Rolla (3-11-2; 1-8-2) by a 1-0 score.

Murray's goal, her 13th of the season and 57th of her career, was set up by a pair of Bulldog seniors in Ellen Wright (Kirkwood, Mo./Kirkwood) and Anna Sonderman (Manchester, Mo./Nerinx Hall) at the 15 minute mark of the game. The Bulldogs outshot Missouri-Rolla 18-2 in the game. In an earlier season meeting between the two schools, Truman outshot Missouri-Rolla by a 24-2 margin.

Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Davis recorded the shutout while making two saves. Davis has 11 shutouts now, which is just three shy of the MIAA single-season mark of 14, held by former Bulldog standout Emily Huyck. She is third all-time in Truman history with 24 career shutouts.

The Bulldogs will play three games this week including a home game against Central Missouri State on Wednesday afternoon to try and regain the conference lead from Southwest Baptist. Truman won earlier this season in Warrensburg by a 1-0 overtime score. Wright had the only goal in the first minute of extra time for the win. Following that match-up, the Bulldogs will head out on the road and face Emporia St. (Kan.) and Washburn (Kan.) over the weekend.
