Five Women's Soccer Team Members Earn All-Region Honors

Four members of the Truman women's soccer team earn all-region honors this week.

Senior goalkeeper Emily Huyck (Omaha, Neb./Westside), junior defender Jennifer Buscher (St. Louis), junior midfielder Anna Smith (Jefferson City, Mo.) and freshman forward Sara Murray (Eden Prairie, Minn.) were all first-team selections, while senior midfielder Melissa Miller (Olathe, Kan.) was named to the second team.

Huyck finished the year with a 0.40 goals against average and 14 shutouts.

Buscher was instrumental in the Bulldog defense that allowed just eight goals all year and posted a total of 15 shutouts.

Smith was fourth on the team with five goals and 12 points.

Murray led the team and set a new Truman single season goals standard by putting 17 balls past opponent goalkeepers. She finished the year with a team-high 39 points.

Miller was second on the team in scoring with 18 points on six goals and assists and finished her career among the top 10 all-time assist leaders at Truman.

The Truman women's soccer team finished the year with an 18-3 record and hosted the quarterfinal game of the NCAA Division II women's soccer tournament. The Bulldogs also claimed their third-straight Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association title.
