Truman Qualifies Two For Nationals At Midwest Regional Wrestling Championships
Junior 141-pounder Brad Kieffer (Mt. Carmel, Ill.) and senior 165-pounder Calvin Buhler (Liberty, Mo.) will be heading to the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships in Omaha, Neb., March 12-13. Kieffer, who has a 30-13 record, will be making his second trip to the national tournament. He qualified two years ago at 126 pounds. This will be Buhler's first time at the tournament. Buhler has a 34-5 record this year.
Kieffer and Buhler both finished second in their weight classes at the Midwest Regional tournament on Saturday (Feb. 27).
As a team, Truman finished sixth out of nine teams, with 54 points. The Bulldogs placed eighth a year ago. The Bulldogs completed the season with a 3-7 dual record.
