The Truman wrestling team finished in fourth-place on Saturday at the Edsouth Wrestling Championships hosted by Carson-Newman College (Tenn.). Carson-Newman was the winner of the meet with 107.5 points, while the Bulldogs scored 26.0 points for fourth overall.
Individually, senior Brad Kieffer (Mt. Carmel, Ill.), ranked second in the nation at 141, took first-place in his weight class, going 3-0 for the day.
Senior 184-pounder Chris Benner (Kansas City, Mo./North Kansas City) finished second, while senior Chris Brown (Kirksville, Mo.) placed third at 133 pounds for Truman.
The 'Dogs tied Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville on Sunday in a dual meet, 12-12. Winners for Truman included Brown, Benner and junior Erik Simms (Wentzville, Mo.) at heavyweight. There were no matches at 125, 141, 157 or 197 pounds.
Truman is now 2-9-1 in dual competition this season and will travel to Central Missouri State University on Wednesday for a dual.
