Kessen Winner For 'Dogs at MacMurray Invitational

 

The Truman wrestling team competed this past weekend at the MacMurray College Invitational. Freshman Nate Kessen was the top finisher for the Bulldogs, taking first-place at 184 pounds. He was 2-0 for the day and won the title match by pinning Bert Watford of William Penn College in 4:30.

Corey Crandall placed third at 165 pounds, going 3-1 for the meet.

Fourth-place finishes went to Bo Rinehart at 174 pounds and Bryan Jovick in the heavy weight division. Rinehart was 1-2 for the day, while Jovick posted a record of 0-2 at the meet.

The team finished fifth overall among seven teams with 39 points.

On Dec. 2, Truman competed at the Wisconsin-Parkside Collegiate Wrestling Championships where 125-pounder Grant Strickland took first-place with a 3-3 record.

The Bulldogs will host their first meet of the season on Wednesday as Central College travels to Kirksville for a dual at 7 p.m.
