Pickering Concludes Mat Season at NCAA DII Championships

At 184 pounds, sophomore Wyatt Pickering (Chillicothe, Mo.) was the only Bulldog to compete at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships on Friday and Saturday in Greeley, Colo.

Pickering lost both his matches at nationals, succumbing to Chris Canale of Ashland University by a fall in 35 seconds. In the consolation round, he lost to Mark Dubrovich of the Colorado School of Mines by a 10-3 decision.

He qualified for the national meet after finishing fourth at the Midwest regionals with with a 2-2 record for the day.

Pickering finishes the season with a 5-6 record since joining the team in late January. He competed in just two meets before attending the NCAA Midwest regionals and making the national cut.

The Bulldogs final dual record for the year was 2-11.
