Truman Wrestlers Garner Eight Top Five Finishes at Coe Invite

The Truman wrestling team had 10 place-finishers at the Coe College Turkey Invitational on Saturday, eight of those placed in the top five at the meet.

Corey Crandall took first-place at 157 pounds after going 4-0 in his matches.

Second-place honors were earned by Grant Strickland at 125 pounds and Kelley Latting at 149 pounds. Strickland was 2-1 for the day, while Latting went 3-1.

Allen Stokes placed third at 125 pounds with a record of 5-1 and Gregg Nurrenbern was third at 174 and also posted a 5-1 record.

Coming in fourth was Bo Rinehart at 165 pounds, while at 141 pounds Merrick Meyer and at 197 pounds Marc Heinecke placed fifth. Rinehart and Meyer went 2-2 for the day and Heinecke was 3-2.

Sixth-place finishes were garnered by Nate Kessen at 184 pounds and heavy weight Bryan Jovick. Kessen was posted a 2-3 record and Jovick was 0-3.

At 141 pounds, Philip Wilkey was 1-2, at 174 pounds Tom Tajkowski went 2-2 and at 197 pounds, Matt Sonn was 1-2.
