Truman Wrestlers Pick Up Dual Win Over Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville

The Bulldogs snapped an eight-match losing streak with a 25-16 victory over the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Cougars this afternoon. The 'Dogs took a 16-0 lead after 141-pounder Merrick Meyer picked up the first decision of the match over Alex Lininger. However Alex Carter pinned Phil Esposito at 149 pounds next to make it 16-6. Truman won the next three matches by decision, while SIUE won the final three matches, two by decision and the last by a technical fall.

Truman finishes its dual season on Wednesday at Missouri Baptist and will then rest until playing host to the NCAA Midwest regional meet on Sunday, March 2.

The Bulldogs move to 2-10 in dual matches for the season.
