Truman Wrestling Team Picks Up First Dual Win at Simpson Invitational

The Bulldog wrestlers competed in three duals at the Simpson Invitational in Indianola, Iowa, on Saturday. Truman picked up a win in its first dual of the season, defeating Cornell (Iowa), 34-12. However, the 'Dogs lost their other two duals of the day to Coe (Iowa) 27-17 and Simpson, 39-13.

Senior Kelly Latting at 157 pounds and juniors Merrick Meyer (149) and Gregg Nurrenbern (184) were all perfect for the day, posting 3-0 records.

Junior Allen Stokes at 125 pounds was 2-1 on the day.

The Bulldogs are back in action for their first home dual of the year when they play host to Central College (Iowa) on Friday in Pershing Arena at 7:30 p.m.
