Oct. 10, 2007 - The Truman volleyball team, ranked sixth in the AVCA top-25 coaches poll, found itself second in the NCAA's first South Central regional poll of the season. The Bulldogs, who have made the postseason each of the last seven seasons, trail only Washburn and is one of five MIAA teams in the eight-team field.

Truman (21-4, 5-1 MIAA) joins Washburn (#1; 26-1), Central Missouri (#4; 20-4), Emporia State (#5; 19-6), and Pittsburg State (#6; 20-4) as representatives from the MIAA in the poll, released today. The University of West Florida (#3; 19-2), West Alabama (#7; 17-1), and the University of North Alabama (#8; 12-10), all of the Gulf South Conference, round out the top-eight. One spot is reserved for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association conference, so if its conference leader is not represented in the top-eight, then the No. 8 seed is bumped in favor of the SIAC automatic bid.
