Kansas City Intercollegiate

Apr. 9, 2008 – The Truman men’s golf teams’ final round at the Kansas City Intercollegiate tournament was washed out and ended their two-tournament trip early.  The Bulldogs played in the Division I Beu/Mussato Western Illinois Invite on Friday and Saturday before taking part in the rain-shortened KC Intercollegiate on Monday.

Truman placed 13th out of 17 schools at Western Illinois in the 54-hole event.  The Bulldogs were led by Scott Danielsen and Chris Kovach, who tied for 27th place with a 234 total score.  Each had low rounds of three-over par 75 in the first 18 holes.

Danielsen shot a 76, while Kovach fired a 77 at Swope Memorial Golf Course in Kansas City on Monday.  The Bulldogs finished ninth but could not improve their standings as heavy rain cancelled the final round.

The Bulldogs will prepare for the MIAA Championship that will take place on Apr. 21-22 at the Branson Creek Golf Course in Branson, Mo.
