Sept. 11, 2008 – The Truman Athletics department would like to invite all Truman and Kirksville community members out for a big Saturday of action.  It all kicks off with women’s soccer hosting rival Nebraska-Omaha at noon and will end with the Bulldog football game at Stokes Stadium that night.

The women’s soccer team will be looking for revenge against the Mavericks that ended the team’s season last year in the NCAA playoffs.  This is the first time these two schools as conference rivals as UNO is the newest member of the MIAA.  Kickoff is at noon and free of charge at the Truman Soccer Park.  For more information about the game click here.

Saturday will also see the men’s tennis team hosting their singles tournament at the Truman tennis courts beginning at 9:00 a.m.  The Baseball and Softball teams will be playing their alumni games at 10:00 a.m. at their respective fields.

Fans are invited to the first “Party In The Park” prior to the Bulldog Football game at Stokes Stadium.  The tailgate event will run from 5:00-6:30 at the tent located at the corner of Florence and Stadium Drive.  Food will be served at a cost of $6.00 per plate.

Truman Students are asked to use Florence St. to get to the game on Saturday due to the construction still taking place on the west end of the stadium.

At 7:00 p.m. the Bulldogs will kickoff the 2008 MIAA season against the University of Central Missouri.  It will be the debut of the Astro Turf Gameday Grass 3D that was installed at the stadium this summer.  For more information about the game click here.

Those that can not make it to Kirksville for the big day can keep track of the football game free of charge by watching it at www.themiaa.tv. or listening to the broadcast starting at 6:15 on 104.7 FM KRES or online at www.regionalradio.com.
