Oct. 28, 2008 – Eli Medina recorded a double-double and Truman picked up MIAA win No. 10 with a 3-0 (-22, -12, -15) win at Southwest Baptist on Tuesday night.
The 11th-ranked Bulldogs (23-7, 10-4 MIAA) wrapped up a three-match road trip with a 2-1 record and will end the regular season with five of its next six matches at home in Pershing Arena.
Medina picked up her 41st career double-double by finishing with 15 kills and 13 digs, while seniors Melissa Keck (9), Allie Cherven (8) and Lisa Weber (8) combined for 25 kills and a .328 hitting percentage.
Truman trailed 22-21 in the first set, but it would be the last time the visiting ’Dogs would be looking up at SBU the remainder of the night, as the squad rattled off four straight to win the first set, then jumped out to a 11-2 lead in the second frame. Truman hit .417 in the middle set and recorded 21 kills out of 25 total points.
The Bulldogs again jumped out quickly after the intermission, taking a 9-3 lead and cruising to the ten point third set win. Truman improved to 51-13 this season on sets decided by five or more points after taking two of Tuesday night’s three sets by that margin.
