Dec. 3, 2008 – The Missouri Southern Lions were hot from long range and defeated the Truman women’s basketball team 71-65 in the conference opener on Wednesday night. Malorie Kiecker led the Bulldogs in scoring with a 17 points.
The Bulldogs took a one-point lead at the 14:16 mark of the second half but then the Lions started lighting up from outside with four three-pointers over the next five minutes and eventually extended their lead to 10 points with 3:08 left.

Truman got as close as four in the final minutes but a pair of free throws by Myosha Barnes sealed the game for the Lions, who improve to 6-0 on the young season.
Kiecker was 6-of-17 from the field for 17 points and six rebounds, while Daniels added 15 with three triples. Georgia Mueller had 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting after picking up two early fouls and playing just six minutes in the first half.
The Bulldogs fall to 2-4 on the season and 0-1 in conference play.
