Dec. 17, 2008 – A dominating night on the glass and a double-double from senior Georgia Mueller helped the Truman women’s basketball team snap a three-game skid and pick up a 61-45 road win Wednesday against Lincoln University in Jefferson City.

The Bulldogs (3-6) out-rebounded Lincoln 45-28 on the night, including an 18-5 edge on the offensive end. Truman struggled from the field, shooting just 32%, but used its advantage on the glass and a 21-for-25 effort from the charity stripe to match the total number of road wins from last season through just four road tilts this year.

Mueller posted her third double-double of the season with a 23-point, 13-rebound effort, and freshman Breanna Daniels added 11 points and five boards. The two combined to score 16 of Truman’s first 20 points, as the Bulldogs opened up a 15-point halftime lead at 36-21.

The purple and white expanded the gap to 21 points just minutes into the second half but struggled from the field in the final 20 minutes to allow Lincoln to cut the deficit to 12 at 51-39 with 8:11 to play.

However, Mueller took over down the stretch, scoring six of the team’s final 10 points to help guide Truman to its 17th straight win against the Blue Tigers dating back to the 1998-1999 season.

Sophomore forward Malorie Kiecker tacked on nine points and five rebounds.

Truman will travel to Evansville, Ind., to face the University of Southern Indiana in a Monday afternoon contest. Tip-off against the Screaming Eagles is set for 1:00 p.m. Live stats and radio – courtesy of USI – are linked through the Bulldog women’s basketball schedule page.
