WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Jennies rattled off a 19-4 run during the final seven minutes Wednesday night, as the Truman women’s basketball team dropped their second consecutive MIAA game 59-55 at the Multi in Warrensburg.

Three Bulldogs finished in double-figures, paced by junior Julie Guinn’s 12 on five-of-13 shooting. Junior Laura Joya wrapped up the night with 11 points, five rebounds and five assists, while sophomore Malorie Kiecker added on 11 points and seven rebounds.

The squads played to a 20-20 draw at the intermission, before the Bulldogs slowly built up a 51-40 lead on a Georgia Mueller old-fashioned hoop-and-harm with 7:07 to play. From there, however, the Bulldogs went cold, converting just two-of-13 in the final seven minutes to allow UCM to creep back and steal a win at home.

Mueller finished with nine points, a team-best 12 rebounds and four blocks, but UCM (13-4, 8-2 MIAA) took 30 free throws (23 made) to Truman’s 11 (nine made) to help make up a five percent difference in field goal percentage. The Bulldogs (4-13, 1-9 MIAA) shot 34% for the game and out-rebounded the Jens, 42-40.

Truman will take on Missouri Southern Saturday in Joplin at 1:00 p.m.
