April 18, 2009 – Katrina Biermann broke her own pole vault record and the Bulldogs won 15 events at the Dewey Allgood Invitational in Rolla, Mo. on Saturday.  Biermann’s mark was on Saturday was 12-02.00.

 

Biermann also took first in the triple jump with a mark of 37-08.00. 

 

Stephanie Grauel swept both the 100 and 400 meter hurdle events.  Grauel ran 15.31 and 1:04.36 to take top honors.  Amber Clayton was victorious in the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.78.

 

Danna Kelly took a break from the steeplechase but still dominated in the 1,500 meter run.  Kelly led three Bulldogs to the line in a time of 4:45.92.

 

Four different Bulldog throwers won on the women’s side while three men’s throwers also took first place.

 

Kortney Holeman set an NCAA provisional mark in the discus with a mark of 149-00.  Tessa Letuli won the shot put at 42-01.25, Ashley Bernard in the hammer throw 154-03 and Whitney Boehler in the javelin at 101-04.

 

On the men’s side Alex Van Delft took the shot put at 51-08.50 with Derek Atwood taking second.  Matt Kiblinger won the discus with a mark of 142-08 and Bobby Massop finished second with a mark of 140.05.

 

Finally, Dan Jones won the hammer throw with a mark of 140-09.

 

Coedy Walker finished first in the long jump (23-01.25) and second in the triple jump with a mark of 44-01.50.

 

The Bulldogs will have some team members compete at the Drake Relays next weekend in Des Moines while the rest of the team will compete at the Simpson Invitational.  It will be the final event before the MIAA championships.
