The Mavericks struck first as they scored one run in the first inning but left the bases loaded as the Bulldogs got out of the big jam.
UNO tacked on a run in both the fourth and fifth innings to take a 3-0 lead.
The ‘Dogs fired back with three runs of their own in the sixth to tie the game. Alex Weber and Erica LaCombe both singled and Rebekah Shea, Mary Manley and Kristen Siegler each had RBI singles to knot the score at three.
UNO broke the tie on a fielding error that plated two runs in the bottom of the inning.
The Bulldogs put their first two batters on in the seventh but a line drive by Manley resulted in a double-play and Holleran grounded out to end the game.
In the nightcap, UNO’s Lindsey Slocum had three RBIs on a pair of doubles as the Mavericks won 9-1 in five innings.
Truman’s lone run in the contest came in the fifth when Dani Mayer doubled to right and came in to score during a double steal with LaCombe.
