Sept. 12, 2009 – The Bulldog Cross Country teams made it two-for-two as they sweep took the team trophies at the Les Duke Invitational in
The women had five runners in the top 12 places and cruised to an 11-point victory over
Dani Dell’Orco finished the 6K course in 22:05 to pace the Bulldogs and was :42 seconds behind race winner Marie Borner of
Michelle Gronemeyer was second for the Bulldogs with an eighth place finish crossing in 23:07. Cindy Grauel barely beat out her sister Karen as the twins finished in 23:15, nine seconds ahead of Anne Ratermann who was in 12th.
The Bulldog men used their depth as they ran away with the men’s team title. All seven Truman runners finished within the top 26 and Truman won going away with 49 points to Grinnell’s 87.
Adam Kell was the first Bulldog to finish the 8K course as he came in with a time of 26:11. Bob Gorman was sixth overall just three seconds behind Kell.
Three other Bulldogs finished with seconds of one another as Joey Walls was 10th (26:29), John Venner 11th (26:42) and Mike Dial took 18th (27:01).
Freshman Chad Petrofsky and Alex Phillips rounded out the Truman contingent with a 23rd and 26th place finish respectively.
