Oct. 25, 2009 – The Truman swimming teams competed in a four-way dual meet with Ashland (Ohio), Wayne State (Mich.) and the University of Indianapolis over the weekend.  The women took five of six while the men went winless.

 

Brian Tillis had two strong showings during the meet.  Tillis won the 1000 free with a time of 9:53.96 while then coming in second to teammate Jerod Simek in the 1650 free.  Simek finished in 16:37.11.

 

Kate Aherne won four races during the weekend.  She won the 50 free and 100 free on Friday and then took the 200 free and 200 IM on Saturday.

 

Kendra Brunkow won the 200 free on Friday while Stacey Wymer took the 200 back and Emily Buss won the 200 Breast.  Claire Myers led a pack of Bulldogs in the 400 IM to the wall as she touched in 4:39.76.  Three of the top four in the race were from Truman.

 

The women swept the three duals on Friday but were defeated by Wayne State on Saturday 136-101.  Two diving events, which Truman did not compete in, were contested on Saturday.

 

Truman will host Missouri State University on Nov. 7th at the Pershing Natatorium beginning at 2:00 p.m.
