Jan. 23, 2010 – For the second time this season, senior swimmer Kate Aherne has been named the Division II National Collegiate Swimmer of the Week by CollegeSwimming.com.
Aherne (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove) had two wins in the 110-79 dual meet victory over Lewis University on Saturday. The senior won the 400 individual medley (4:32.87, NCAA "A" time) and the 100 butterfly (59.39). Aherne also swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:37.46).
Aherne previously won the award on Nov. 10, 2009.
