Jan. 23, 2010 – DruryUniversity defeated by the men’s and women’s swimming teams on Saturday.The women fell 157-78 while the men lost 165-64.
Kate Aherne had two close battles in both the 100 and 200 free events as she lost to Tiffany Van Dongen by less than a second in each.In the 200 Van Dongen touched in 1:53.36 to Aherne’s 1:53.66 and in the 100 it was Van Dongen’s 52.05 to Aherne’s 52.17.
Anna Grinter recorded the only event win for the Bulldogs in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:06.95 while Emily Buss finished second in the 200 Breast.
Jerod Simek had his two close seconds on the men’s side as he lost by less than a second in both the 400 IM and 500 free events.
Drury scored points in both diving events in which Truman does not sponsor diving.
The Bulldogs will be off and training for the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference meet in Cleveland, Miss. on Feb. 10-13.
