Jan. 23, 2010 – Katrina Biermann established two school records in the Pole Vault and Triple Jump as the Truman Track & Field teams competed at the Iowa State Open this weekend in Ames.  Biermann topped the 13 foot mark in the pole vault to claim first in the event.

Biermann’s new school record is now 13-00.25 and is currently the second best vault in Division II Women’s Track & Field.  Jessica Blair of Abilene Christian has the current top spot with a mark of 13-01.50.

Biermann also improved on her career best mark in the triple jump.  She took third place at Iowa State with a leap of 38-11.50 (11.87m) and took solo possession of the Truman mark that was shared by Christen Lauer.  The previous mark was 38-04.75 (11.70m) set by Lauer in the same meet in 2008 and tied by Biermann at the conference meet last season.  The new mark is currently the sixth best in Division II.
