Feb. 20, 2009 – Dani Dell’Orco broke a school record in the Women’s 3000 meter run on Friday as the Truman Track & Field teams competed at the Collegiate Challenge hosted by the University of Missouri.

Dell’Orco ran 9:52.03 to claim first place in the event and broke Kerry Knepper’s 1990 mark of 9:52.84 in doing so. 

Lisa Kucharski had a big day as well as she placed first in the 600 yard run and then was on the winning 4x400 Meter Relay squad.

Fiona Williams took home Tiger gold in the 1000 meter run while Katrina Biermann was the top placer in both the Pole Vault and Triple Jump.

Biermann won the Pole Vault with a mark of 12-03.50 and the Triple Jump with a leap of 39-03.75.  She bested teammate Jennifer Zweifel who finished second with an NCAA Provisional Mark of 37-10.75.

On the men’s side, Demetrius LaVant was second in the Long Jump with a mark of 22-02.25 while Brandon Gutteridge was second in the Men’s 1000 meter run.

Four Bulldogs took fourth place finishes in their respective events, Jacob Schrum in the 600, Michael Gambach in the 800, Zach Chapman in the Mile and Derek Atwood in the Shot Put.

The Bulldogs will be in action at the MIAA Indoor Championships from Friday through Sunday in Joplin, Mo. at Missouri Southern State University.
