April 3, 2010 – Katrina Biermann set a new school record in the Pole Vault as both Truman Track & Field teams competed at the Northwest Missouri Invitational on Saturday in Maryville.
Biermann, in her first pole vault competition since winning the indoor national title, cleared 12-08.25 to break her own school record set almost a year-to-date.Biermann’s jump is the second best in Division II at the time of the meet.
Four other women took home first places on Saturday in Maryville.Anne Ratermann won the 800 meter run, Fiona Williams and Dani Dell’Orco went 1-2 in the 1500 meter run, Lisa Kucharski took the 400 meter hurdles and Jennifer Zweifel won the triple jump.
Jacob Schrum turned in the top men’s performance on Saturday has he placed second in the men’s 800 meter run.
Adam Kell was third in the 5000 meter run while Derek Atwood was fourth in the shot put.
Both teams will compete in Des Moines, Iowa next weekend at the Jim Duncan Invitational at DrakeUniversity.
