April 17, 2010 – The Bulldog Track & Field Teams took home 14 titles at the 2010 Dewey Allgood Invitational on Saturday in Rolla, Mo.  Derek Atwood, Rachel McCarroll and Katrina Biermann were all multiple event winners.

 

Atwood claimed both the Shot Put and the Discus events as he beat out teammate Alex Van Delft in each.  Atwood threw 50-00.75 in the shot while 141-01 in the discus.

 

Demetrius Lavant took home the Long Jump title with a leap of 23-03.25 while Adam Kell (5000 Meter Run) and Joey Walls (800 Meter Run) were runners up.

 

McCarroll won both the Discus (134-10) and the Hammer (128-08) while Dimonique McGruder was first in the Shot (42-03.50) and a runner-up to McCarroll in the Discus (112-10).

 

Tessa Letuli was second in both the Shot (40-07.50) and the Hammer (126-10).

 

Biermann again swept her two main events in the Pole Vault (12-03.50) and the Triple Jump (38-07.75) and also ran the lead-off leg of the winning 4x100 relay team.

 

Michelle Gronemeyer (3000 Meter Steeplechase), Dani Dell’Orco (1500 Meter Run), Fiona Williams (800 Meter Run) and Lisa Kucharski (400 Meter Hurdles) were the other event winners for Truman.

 

The Bulldogs will have a group of participants at the prestigious Drake Relays next weekend while the majority of the team will compete at the Kip Javrin Invitational at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.
