July 27, 2010 – The renovation of the Truman State University Tennis Courts has begun with an anticipated completion date around the first of September. The six newly resurfaced courts are used by the Bulldog Tennis teams, Health & Exercise Science classes, Intramurals and both the Truman and Kirksville communities.
The project, which is being funded in part by the Truman Student Athletic Fee, includes a new two-coat acrylic surfacing system, a new 10 foot high aluminum fence around all six courts and a concrete pad for a bleacher area on the north side.
The total cost of the project is approximately $300,000.
The first scheduled home events on the new courts will be a men’s tennis match against Missouri Baptist on Sept. 14 followed by the women's Truman Invitational on Sept. 17 and 18. The annual Town & Gown exhibition event will be held on Sunday Sept. 19.
