Aug. 31, 2005- The NCAA recently announced the state winners for its NCAA Woman of the Year award and former Truman women’s soccer player Sara Murray was the Missouri honoree.
The NCAA Woman of the Year award recognizes outstanding female student-athletes who have excelled in academics, athletics and community leadership. Ten finalist for the national award will be revealed in the Sept. 26 issue of the NCAA News and the national winner will be announced during the annual awards dinner on Oct. 29.
Murray, last year’s Ken B. Jones award winner, was a four-time first-team all-MIAA performer and twice earned first-team all-American honors. She also earned numerous academic awards at Truman, including being a two-time academic all-American.
