Sept. 24, 2005 – For 110 minutes, the women’s soccer team dominated Missouri Southern in a key conference match-up, however none of the 11 shots on goal by the Bulldogs found the back of the net and both teams settled for a 0-0 tie on Saturday.

 

Truman’s best chances came toward the end of each half.  Lauren Cepicky hit the crossbar with just :20 seconds remaining in the first half.  In the second, Katie Buning had a near breakaway but was stopped by Lion keeper Kaney Tyler.

 

Tyler stopped two shots in the first half, six in the second and three in the second overtime to preserve the shutout.  Lauren Davis, of the Bulldogs, had to only make two stops for her shutout.

 

Missouri Southern’s record moves to 5-2-2 overall and 2-0-2 in league play while Truman sits at 3-4-2 and 1-0-2 in conference action.  The Bulldogs three conference games have all gone to double-overtime this season.

 

The Bulldogs will next be on the pitch on Sunday facing first-year program Missouri Western in another conference match.
