In the fifth place match against Washburn, the Bulldogs once again fell behind the eight-ball by dropping the three doubles matches. In the singles, Whitney Hamilton was the only Bulldog to get a victory with a 6-1, 7-5 decision over Amber Raindl. Kristine Grajo and Jennifer Salmon were each defeated and the other three singles matches were left unfinished.
The Bulldogs finish the regular season with a 14-7 record. The team was ranked eighth in the latest NCAA regional poll released last week. The NCAA tournament field is set with 64 teams selected with eight coming from each of the eight regions.
