The inaugural champion of the Charity Stripe program was the team from KRES Radio, voice of the Bulldogs. Members of the winning team are Brad Boyer, "Mr. Bulldog" Hank Janssen and Steve Farnsworth. (Kevin White served as a back-up on one occasion but didn't make a shot.)
How it Works: At each men's basketball home game two teams from competing organizations participate in a free throw contest at halftime. Three members from each team take two shots apiece for a total of six shots from the Charity Stripe with the winning team advancing in the season-long tournament.
Each entering organization donated $50 at the beginning of the tournament with the winning team getting the entire proceeds donated to their selected charity.
If you or your organization would like to participate during the 2006-07 season, contact Coach Schrader below.
