Joe Nick returns to the Truman sidelines as the men's soccer assistant coach in 2009 after suiting up for the Bulldogs from 1993-1996.

As a four-year letterwinner with the men's soccer program, Nick was a key member of two NCAA tournament squads (1993, 1995) and three MIAA championship teams (1994, 1995, 1996). He was named the league's MVP and an all-region selection following his senior season in 1996 and was a first-team pick in both 1995 and 1996.

Following his playing career at Truman, Nick joined the USL as a member of the Des Moines Menance in 1996. He moved to the Philadelphia Freedom in 1997 before joining the South Jersey Barons in 1999 for a successful three-year stint that included a national championship in his first season with the squad. Nick was also selected as the USL National Player of the Week five times between 1996-2001.

He finished his playing career with the Philadelphia Kixx of the MISL Professional Indoor league in 2001 before acquiring his USSF B license.
