May 7, 2008 - The Truman Athletics Department held its annual Awards Night Tuesday evening, as student-athletes and their teams were honored for achievements both on the field and in the classroom. Wrestler Blake Peterson and swimmer Molly Polette were named student-athletes of the year.
March 25, 2008 - Ten Truman basketball players (six women, four men) were named to the 2007-2008 MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for basketball this week. In all, 36 women and 19 men from across the MIAA were named to their respective Honor Rolls for basketball, with no other school recording more than seven total selections.
Mar. 13, 2008 – Brad Boyer, the voice of Truman’s football and basketball games, is being honored by the Missouri State High School Activities Association with a Distinguished Service Award. Boyer will be recognized at halftime of the Missouri Class 2 Boys Championship game on Saturday.
Jan. 20, 2008 – The Bulldog Athletics Department invites all Kirksville Middle School students that recently received their Student Recognition Card, to free admission to the remaining home games during the 2008 Bulldog Basketball season.
Dec. 1, 2007 – Melissa Ware, former Truman Sports Information Director, passed away on Friday night at a hospital in Chicago, Ill. Ware was 42-years old.
Dec. 5, 2007 – The Truman had 49 student-athletes named to the MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll this fall.
Nov. 14, 2007 – Seven student-athletes from three fall sports were selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Nov. 12, 2007 – Junior Quarterback Matt Ticich, junior middle blocker Allie Cherven and senior setter Amanda Holliday were named MIAA Athletes of the Week after leading their respective teams to wins this past weekend.
Oct. 16, 2007 - Truman volleyball player Melissa Keck was named MIAA Hitter of the Week for her play during the No. 6 Bulldog squad's three-match road trip through southwest Missouri and central Kansas last weekend. This marks the second time this season that Keck has won the award.
Oct. 7, 2007 – Online ticket sales for Saturday’s Family Day football game against Pittsburg State will end on Tuesday at midnight for processing purposes. Families may still purchase tickets Saturday morning on the mall from 8:30-11:00 and at the stadium beginning at 12:45 p.m.
Sept. 11, 2007 – Two Bulldogs earned MIAA Player of the Week honors for their performances this past weekend. Junior goalkeeper Emily Roark was the women’s soccer defender of the week, while junior quarterback Matt Ticich was named football offensive player of the week. In addition, Ticich was one of three players to earn the D2Football.com national offensive player of the week award.
August 27, 2007 – Garret Feig and Melissa Keck earned MIAA Player of the Week honors following the first weekend of competition. Feig was named the Wilson/MIAA Defensive Player of the Week, while Keck shared the MIAA Volleyball Hitter of the Week award with Pamela Cartagena of Pittsburg State.
August 8, 2007 – Linda Anderson has joined the Truman Athletics department as Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Operations. Anderson brings 26 years of college athletic administration experience to the Bulldogs.
August 7, 2007 – Truman and Pittsburg State have produced the most ESPN the Magazine Academic all-Americans in Division II during the current decade. The Bulldogs have had 41 Academic all-Americans selected since 2000, edging out Pittsburg State’s total of 40. Academic all-Americans are selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
July 11, 2007 – The Truman Athletics Hall of Fame will induct Aaron Royster (Baseball), Jim Blacklock (Football) and Mary Blandford (Swimming) this October. Joining the three individuals, the 1946-47 Bulldog men’s basketball team and the 1982 softball team will be inducted as well.
June 14, 2007 – The Truman Athletics Department finished in 16th place in the annual U.S. Sports Academy Division II Director’s Cup standings. The Bulldogs accumulated 472.50 points based on NCAA finishes in all sports during the 2006-07 school year. There were 224 Division II schools that scored points toward the Director’s Cup.
June 13, 2007 - The final academic conference awards were announced on Wednesday as 10 Bulldogs were named MIAA Presidential Scholars. To achieve this honor, athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 4.00 with at least two terms of attendance.
June 13, 2007 – Truman placed 35 student-athletes on the Academic all-MIAA squad on Wednesday, the most by any university in the MIAA Conference. Twelve Truman men and a conference-high 23 women received the award.
May 24, 2007 – The MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Rolls for the spring were recently released and 89 Truman student-athletes were honored. Overall, the Bulldogs had 141 MIAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll members, the most of any school in the league.
May 16, 2007 - The Truman athletic department handed out its 2006-07 honors at the annual reception on May 2. The event, sponsored by the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, featured commentary from each Truman head coach and select student-athletes.
