Nov. 15, 2008 – David Shields one-yard, two-point conversion gave Missouri S&T a 39-38 double-overtime victory over the Truman State University Bulldogs in the season finale at Stokes Stadium. The Miners (7-4) snapped a 22-game winning streak over the Bulldogs (4-7) that dated back to 1983.

Nov. 11, 2008 – Ten Bulldog football players were named to the all-MIAA team following the conclusion of the conference season. Senior defensive lineman Les Hammers was named to the conference’s first-team.

Nov. 8, 2008 – Dustin Strickler’s 22-yard field goal with three seconds left gave Missouri Western a 33-32 victory over the Truman Bulldogs in the conference season finale. The Bulldogs erased a 17-0 deficit to take a 21-17 lead in the second quarter.

Nov. 6, 2008 – Senior Tight End Ryan King has been named to the first-team Academic all-District 7 by ESPN the Magazine and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). King has 28 catches for 348 yards this season.

Nov. 1, 2008 – The Truman Bulldogs (4-5/3-5 MIAA) played a complete game as they dominated Missouri Southern (4-6/2-6 MIAA) 38-7 on Senior Day in Kirksville. The Bulldogs rushed for a season high 265 yards and Matt Ticich had three touchdown passes in the victory.

Oct. 4, 2008 – The Bulldog football team thrilled the homecoming crowd with a 26-20 double-overtime victory over No. 16 Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday afternoon in Kirksville. Demetrius Lavant had a 57-yard interception return to end the game and give the ‘Dogs their third straight homecoming win.

Sept. 20, 2008 – Costly mistakes and six straight Northwest possessions that resulted in touchdowns helped the Bearcats retain “The Ol’ Hickory Stick” in front of a large Family Night crowd at Stokes Stadium. The Bearcats (3-1/2-0 MIAA) defeated the Truman Bulldogs (1-2/0-2 MIAA) 49-0.
