Aug. 13, 2009 – This week marks the 25th anniversary of Bulldog great Ray Armstead’s Olympic gold medal victory as part of the 4x400 meter relay team at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. It is the only gold medal won by university student-athlete to date.

July 10, 2009 – The Bulldog Track & Field teams were ranked highly in Division II on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association all-Academic lists. In addition, seven student-athletes were named to the association’s all-Academic teams.

May 23, 2009 – Senior Danna Kelly capped off her stellar career with a third place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase on Saturday night at the Division II Track & Field National Championships. Shaina Dochterman finished fourth in the finals of the 400 meter hurdles.

May 22, 2009 – Katrina Biermann finished up her junior season with a sixth place finish in the pole vault, while Derek Atwood and Alex Van Delft finished 13th and 16th respectively in the shot put at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field championships.

May 21, 2009 – Both Bulldog Track & Field competitors advanced to their respective event finals on Thursday night at the NCAA Division II Championships in Angelo, Texas. Shaina Dochterman ran the third fastest time in the 400 meter hurdles while Danna Kelly qualified ninth in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
