June 10, 2010 – Swimmers Kate Aherne and Tanya Sylvester were named for the second time in their careers to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America team voted by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Aherne becomes the ninth Truman student-athlete to be named to the first team in multiple years.
May 20, 2010 – Four Student-Athletes have been selected to the ESPN the Magazine/College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District team. Andrew McCall, Peter Bracha, Kate Aherne and Tanya Sylvester are all first-team honorees and will move on to the national ballot for Academic All-America considerations.
May 17, 2010 – Senior women’s swimmer Kate Aherne has been awarded an NCAA postgraduate scholarship, becoming the seventh women’s swimmer and 14th Truman student-athlete overall since 2000 to win the award. To qualify for the award, a student-athlete must have an overall grade-point average of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) and must intend to continue academic work beyond the baccalaureate degree as a full- or part-time graduate student.
March 13, 2010 – The Truman (Mo.) State University swimming teams added ten all-American accolades on the final day of the 2010 Championships. The Bulldog women have now placed in the top-five each of the past 13 seasons, coming in fifth this year after moving up one more place on Saturday.
