July 15, 2008 - The women's track and field team had the sixth best team GPA in Division II while the men's squad GPA was 16th. In addition, four women’s student-athletes earned the distinction of being named All-Academic by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

May 24, 2008 - Senior Sean Bergstedt finished second in the finals of the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 50.60 seconds, while junior Kortney Holeman finished 15th in the women's discus as Truman wrapped up its appearance at the 2008 NCAA Division II Championships at Cal-Poly Pomona on Saturday.

May 13, 2008 –Seniors Sean Bergstedt (400m Hurdles), Christen Lauer (Triple Jump), juniors Ashley Bernard (Hammer), Kortney Holeman (Discus) and sophomore Shaina Dochterman (400m Hurdles) will be participating in the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships next week in Walnut, Calif.

May, 10, 2008 – Christen Lauer and Danna Kelly were able to improve on their provisional marks at the Emporia State Twilight Qualifier on Saturday. Lauer improved her mark in the long jump while Kelly did so in the 3000 meter steeplechase.

May 4, 2008 – The Bulldog Track & Field teams won four individual championships at this year’s MIAA conference meet at Maryville, Mo. this past weekend. The women’s team placed fourth while the men were in eighth.

Apr. 27, 2008 – The Bulldog track and field teams headed north for the Kip Janvrin Simpson College Open in Pella and a few student-athletes competed at the Drake Relays this past weekend. This was the final tune-up event for the MIAA Championships next weekend in Maryville.

Apr. 19, 2008 – The Bulldog track and field teams competed at the Dewey Allgood meet held at Missouri Science & Tech on Saturday. The Truman women had nine first place finishes, while the men brought home six top finishes.

Apr. 15, 2008 – Track & Field athlete Ashley Bernard was named the MIAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. This is the first time Bernard has won the outdoor award.

Apr. 13, 2008 – Ashley Bernard and Sean Bergstedt earned athlete of the meet honors as the Truman Track & Field teams competed at the Division II Challenge, hosted by Emporia State. The Bulldog women finished third, while the men took eighth.

Apr. 5, 2008 – Sean Bergstedt broke his own meet record and automatically qualified for the Division II outdoor championships with a time of 51.45 in the 400 meter hurdles at the Northwest Missouri Invitational on Saturday. Both the men’s and women’s teams took second in the team standings.

Apr. 1, 2008 – Women’s Track & Field Athlete Christen Lauer earned one of the MIAA Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Mar. 29, 2008 – Senior Sean Bergstedt set a new Stokes Stadium record as he provisionally qualified in the 400 meter hurdles during the 11th Annual Truman Open Track & Field Meet held at Stokes Stadium/Kenneth Gardner Track. Christen Lauer and Joe Ackerman also posted top marks during the meet.

Mar.21, 2008 – The Truman Outdoor Track & Field teams competed for the first time at the newly renovated Central Methodist facility in Fayette, Mo. The Bulldogs won multiple events on both teams and will host the Truman Open next Saturday at Stokes Stadium/Kenneth Gardner Track.

Mar. 15, 2008 – Senior Christen Lauer edged out teammate sophomore Katrina Biermann in the women’s triple jump at the Division II National Indoor Track & Field meet held in Mankato, Minn. Lauer finished 10th, while Biermann took 11th.

Mar. 10, 2008 – There will be 23 Truman Student-Athletes participating in NCAA Division II Championship events this week. The Swimming & Diving Championships will be held in Columbia, Mo., the Indoor Track & Field Championships in Mankato, Minn. and the Wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Mar. 1, 2008 – Shaina Doctermann and Katrina Biermann both won events as the Truman women’s track team placed fourth at the MIAA Indoor Championships in Joplin, Mo. this weekend. The men’s team finished 8th.

Feb. 29, 2008 – The Truman Track & Field teams will compete for the MIAA Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday in Joplin, Mo at Missouri Southern State University.

Feb. 26, 2008 – Sean Bergstedt, Amber Clayton, Christen Lauer and Katrina Biermann were all event winners for the Bulldog Track & Field teams on Friday at the Central Missouri Open in Warrensburg, Mo. This meet was a prelude to next Saturday’s MIAA Indoor Championship meet.

Feb. 17, 2008 – Both Bulldog Track & Field teams captured titles at the Knox College (Ill.) Invitational on Saturday by nearly 80 points apiece. The Bulldog women took first in nine events, while the men won seven.

Feb. 12, 2008 – Junior Ashley Bernard earned MIAA Athlete of the Week honors in women’s track and field. Bernard was selected as the top field event performer of the week by the conference office.
